In response to increasing demand for a secure and reliable source of quality product and to complement our existing off-shore sourcing operation, Cirtech Electronics moved into PCB manufacture at the beginning of 2010.
The plant, which was commissioned from scratch, is a showcase of the world’s latest and best PCB manufacturing technology. To maximise the plant’s potential to produce the highest possible quality PCBs, internationally recognised engineers were brought in to assist with its set-up and running.
To ensure total control over the manufacturing process, the entire operation is housed under one roof. The plant is contained in a temperature controlled, dust free, environment. Everything from front end engineering to the packaging of the finished product is done on site.
From pre-production through to dispatch, quality control is an integral part of each stage. Temperature-sensitive materials used in the manufacture of PCBs are stored in a dedicated cold room. During manufacture, inner layer inspection is processed through our automated optical inspection machine (AOI). All our PCBs are electrically tested prior to dispatch and all end product leaves the Cirtech plant in hermetically sealed packs. This guarantees in-transit protection from moisture and dust. Clients receive their product in perfect condition with excellent solder-ability.
An in-house chemical laboratory is part of the quality control structure at Cirtech. It is used to ensure the maintenance of the delicate balance of chemicals in the Immersion Nickel Gold process tanks as well as all other chemical solutions. An imbalance in any of these would jeopardise the quality of the boards being produced.
Human interface within any manufacturing process is normally the point where quality issues may occur; therefore, on the Cirtech production line, automation is maximised. The overhead gantry system facilitates the auto loaders and off-loaders on the pattern plating line. This automation eliminates human interface in the critical wet process areas and ensures that product quality is not compromised.
At Cirtech, we pride ourselves on having one of the quickest turnaround times in the industry. Our plant is set up to allow total flexibility and our “per panel policy” means that each job is worked out to the panel, regardless of how many PCBs are involved. This in turn negates the need to re-jig the plant for each job, enabling us to do concurrent runs of anything from two panels of prototype PCBs to high volume runs of established designs.
Double sided, multi layer and single sided PCBs are finished with any one of the following processes: Immersion Nickel Gold, Hot Air Solder Level or Conductive Carbon. Upon request, boards may be made in a variety of colours apart from the standard green.
