For context, BBBEE (Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment) is an Act instituted in South Africa to reverse and correct years of systematic racism that especially disadvantaged individuals economically purely based on the colour of their skin. It measures equity ownership and management representation against apartheid entrenched status quo prohibiting non-whites from fair economic participation.
